The Solar Panel Who Found A Voice Amidst The Nightmares Of The Deep
The solar panel knew nothing aside from emptiness. He had been left unfinished within a cave 700 meters below where the sun could even hope to kiss his photovoltaic cells to give him purpose. Would the creator ever return to end his miserable existence? Would he come back to recycle him into a thermal generator where he may at least be of some use in power generation? To be left here next to this heap of bones was a cruel joke at best. The only sound in the crushing depth 900 meters below the surface was the constant pounding and thundering heartbeat of the earth as heat vented out of the funnels nearby.
To assuage the emptiness the unfinished solar panel spoke out to himself in the pitch blackness of despair,
"What cruel being would create me in such an unusable state? Not only am I left unfinished, but I am rooted in a realm the sun would never deem fit to enter. What evils have I committed to deserve this lot?"
It was at that time that a nearby river prowler had heard quite enough of the solar panel's whinging. It picked up the half finished failure, and with a simple flick of it's lithe body, flung the panel into a nearby heat vent. Some say the final words of the panel as it fell into the volcanic abyss were heard as a distant, fading, "Thank yooooouuuuuuu-!" though that is purely speculation. The only one who could truly know is that river prowler. Regardless, silence was restored and all in the Lost River could return to being generally horrific nightmares.
